Humble Bundle: Bethesda Weekend Sale

During the whole weekend (until Monday at midnight), the Humble Store sells a special bundle with plenty of Bethesda games with great discounts. You can find Wolfenstein: The Old Blood with a 40% discount at $11.99 and Wolfenstein: The New Order with a 66% discount at $20.39, but also Return to Castle Wolfenstein and Wolfenstein 3-D + Spear of Destiny with a 66% discount too at respectively $3.39 and $1.69. This youtube channel tries all the strange mods that exist on the internet for various games, including the “Stupidity” mod for Return to Castle Wolfenstein… I guess if you play this game with some drugs, it will look very similar to this…

50% discount on Wolfenstein: The New Order on Steam during QuakeCon

During the QuakeCon that happens from July 17 to 20 in Dallas, USA, Wolfenstein: The New Order has a discount of 50% on Steam, thus being priced at 25 euros (instead of 50 euros). The whole Bethesda catalog is also sold with large discounts, including the Wolf Pack including Return to Castle Wolfenstein, Wolfenstein 3-D and Spear of Destiny costing 75% less at a price of 3.74 euros (instead of 15 euros).

You can also find all the Doom games from id Software, including Doom 3: BFG Edition, the remastered HD edition of Doom 3, at 7.50 euros, Dishonored at 11.24 euros, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim at 11.24 euros too, and The Elder Scrolls Online at 27.5 euros. Definitely worth it!

But Steam is not the only platform to celebrate the QuakeCon with discounts. The XBox One version of Wolfenstein: The New Order is also sold at reduced price of 40 euros (instead of 60 euros), including on Amazon. During the whole 4th of May, the game Return to Castle Wolfenstein is sold at a very low price on Steam: 2.49 euros (instead of 9.99 euros). The “WolfPack”, including RtCW but also Wolfenstein 3-D and Spear of Destiny, is sold at 3.74 euros (instead of 14.99 euros).

A very good occasion to play to these fantastic classic games two week before the release of Wolfenstein: The New Order on May, 20!

Les Maitres du Jeu Vidéo (Master of Doom)

Il y a quelques années est sorti le livre “Master of Doom“, passionnante biographie croisée de John Carmack et John Romero, qui expliquait leur enfance, leurs premiers travaux sur les ordinateurs de l’époque, et ensuite leur fantastique épopée chez Apogee et id Software, où ils ont créé ensemble Wolfenstein 3D, Doom et Quake, avant de prendre des chemins séparés.
Ce livre était jusqu’à présent uniquement disponible en Anglais, mais l’éditeur français Ecole Loisirs a eu la bonne idée de le traduire pour ceux qui ne maitrisent pas l’Anglais.
Et donc ce livre, nommé “Les Maitres du Jeu Vidéo”, sortira le 23 Avril. Il est dors et déjà disponible dans la boutique de ce site, au prix de 14 euros. A lire absolument !
